The Middle Mississippi River Partnership (MMRP) is a collaboration of sixteen federal/state agencies and not-for-profit organizations that have a common goal of restoring and enhancing the natural resources of the river corridor from St. Louis, Missouri to Cairo, Illinois. In 2004 and 2005 the Southwestern Illinois RC&D facilitated meetings of the Partnership to assist the group in developing a Coordination Plan and conducted public meetings and stakeholder interviews throughout the planning process. The completed plan identifies goals and strategies for the partnership, and includes maps and GIS data that can be used by members of the partnership to tell the story of one of our region's most significant resources.

An additional grant through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources allowed the organization to conduct a watershed-wide Summit in Chester, Illinois.
