During the period from March 1 - October 31, 1999, a team of researchers monitored populations of birds, reptiles, and amphibians, and avian nesting success in the Kaskaskia River Corridor in floodplain forests from Carlyle to Fayetteville. Until this project virtually nothing about the wildlife in the Kaskaskia River Corridor was known. Since the earlier (1995-1998) inventories, several new landowners offered the use of their property to increase the scope of this survey.

This project was executed by a team of field assistants under the supervision of Scott K. Robinson. Areas targeted by this survey include Mascoutah, Okawville, and Collison. Funding of this project is covered by the State of Illinois, Department of Natural Resources Ecosystems Program.
