This grant, funded by Illinois Department of Natural Resources, will fund a series of strategic planning workshops for stakeholders within the American Bottom Ecosystem Partnership. Through these workshops, we expect to identify current problems and mutual concerns that exist within the ecosystem. We will then prioritize this information and develop a set of goals that will allow the partnership to address the problems/concerns in a logical, cost-effective manner. We will then produce a final report that will include a history of the ecosystem, an analysis of its current condition as well as a summary of the goals and the action plan that has been developed as a result of these meetings. We will also identify, in digitized format, key parcels within the region that need to be protected.
