Southwestern Illinois Resource Conservation & Development serves as a catalyst in defining and implementing environmental projects within the region. Utilizing a comprehensive approach, the organization utilizes education programs in conjunction with on-the-ground projects in order to provide for open space, improve water quality, provide parks and trails, and to protect our heritage.
Partnerships play a critical role in the development of our projects. The organization therefore devotes a significant amount of resources to provide outreach, technical, and administrative support to a variety of local and regional partnerships. The support of these partnerships brings together a diversity of skill sets and resources, which energizes the conservation of our environmental resources.
Leveraging additional financial and human resources is also critical in the long term conservation of our resources. The organization has therefore created two programs to address these resources, Southwestern Illinois Environmental Fund and Stewardship of Environmental Resources through Volunteer Efforts (SERVE).
