Taking action is an important step in ensuring that our environmental resources are protect for future generations to enjoy. Taking action can mean many different things, including volunteering your time and skills, providing a charitable donation, or becoming more informed on local environmental issues by signing up for our newsletter.

Volunteering: To ensure that our financial resources are invested in programs, and not overhead, we encourage volunteer efforts in many of our activities. Volunteering allows individuals to contribute expertise in specific areas, while also allowing for professional growth. Volunteers meet new individuals, attend events, and learn about the important resources located within southwestern Illinois. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, please visit: SERVE

Newsletter: Becoming more informed on environmental issues and resources within the region allows individuals to make more informed decisions. Southwestern Illinois Resource Conservation & Development produces a quarterly newsletter which highlights important activities, including places we’ve protected, projects that we’re undertaking, pending legislation, and much more. Donations: Southwestern Illinois Resource Conservation & Development relies on donations from individuals and corporations to carry out much of its work. The organization receives no dedicated tax dollars in support of its efforts. With an annual operating budget rapidly approaching $1 million, it’s more important than ever for individuals and corporations to assist in the effort to preserve our environmental resources. Donations also provide for an opportunity to leverage additional state and federal grants as well as private foundation awards to assist in implementing individual projects.
