Clinton County Animal Waste Project: Utilizing EPA Section 319 funding staff has assisted producers in implementing over $1 million in improvements to their livestock handling facilities that will minimize future nutrient and sediment runoff into area streams.

Karst Recharge Area Delineation: Working with the Ozark Underground Laboratory, Southwestern Illinois Resource Conservation & Development has the recharge areas for six remaining underground mine systems in Monroe and southern St. Clair Counties.

Shoal Creek Streambank Stabilization: Utilizing GPS and GIS technology staff has identified over 300 areas of concern along Shoal Creek in Clinton, Bon and Montgomery Counties. These landowners have been encouraged to participate in state Streambank and Stabilization Program.

Rural Water System Mapping: Staff, in conjunction with the Illinois Rural Water Association, USDA Rural Development have digitally mapped over 200 individual rural water systems within the State of Illinois. Having digital maps allows planners to better understand system expansions, inter-connects and capacity.
